More often than not my trips are an adventure of some sort, or maybe a course, however this one was just to visit a friend who had moved out to Dahab last September. After meeting Hannah at Gatwick we flew out to Sharm and then road transfer onto Dahab, it was great to see Sarah again and to see where she is currently living. Along with Richard she has set up WeFreedive and they now travel teaching freediving along the way.
Below is the Blue Hole, nearly 100m deep its where most freedivers in Dahab dive, but way too many snorkellers there! Not quite the same as Dean's Blue hole...
And Dahab itself along the front...
It was the annerversary of losing Dad on March 1st and since then I have always tried to do something nice with the day rather than dwell on him no longer being around, so Sarah, Hannah and I headed out to the canyons, it was a lovely way to spend the day (thanks guys!) and nice also to get out of Dahab into the mountains.
Below is a local Bedouin sat next to the waters edge and also some of the resident goats which live off the rubbish, much of this seems to also end up in the sea and it seems to be a losing battle to keep the rubbish under control.
