South AfricaIn Feb/March 08 I headed out to South Africa for a couple of weeks diving holiday, the main aim was diving and we dived each day that conditions allowed, however we had a few days where we were blown out of the diving and so kept ourselves busy sight seeing and on Safari.

Underwater shots were only taken with my little compact so not very good quality, I aim to get the SLR diving with me this year :-)

Amazon Jungle

During my Ecuador trip I spent a week in the jungle, with tarantula's, daily swims in the lake full of piranha and caiman and exploring the dense forests.

In and around Quito

During my time in Ecuador and Galapagos my base was Quito, I probably spent a week here in total which was days here and there inbetween flights. I also did a bit of climbing out of Quito, travelled up to Otavalo, Mindo and also visited the Old City.

MicronesiaIn Feb/March 2007 I headed out to Mcronesia in the Pacific Ocean for a diving holiday, split between Yap, Palau and Peleliu.

Yap

I spent a week on Yap - known as "The Island of Stone Money" and equally famous for sightings of Manta Rays.

Palau

Just under two weeks was spent on Palau, the majority of the time diving including the well known Blue Corner. Stunning scenery above water and abundant fish life and sheer walls below the surface.

Peleliu WW II History

Peleliu is steeped in World War II history, September 15th 1944 was the beginning of fierce battles between the Americans and the Japs, many thousands lost thier lives. .

Karakoram Mountain Range in PakistanIn July 2006 I spent 3 weeks trekking in the Karakoram, to K2 base camp and over the Gondogoro La at 5940m. I took lots of photos as the scenery was fantastic, I've split them into three main groups as follows

Skardu to Goro

Leaving Skardu we took an extremely bumpy 8 hour jeep ride out into the mountains, on route to Goro the scenery and underfoot conditions changed as we left the green valleys and approached the Baltoro Glacier where the terrain became loose rock and scree, from here we could see all of the Trango peaks.

Concordia, K2 and over the Gondogoro Pass

Some of the most spectacular mountain scenery can be found at Concordia where we were surrounded 360 degrees by 6, 7 and 8000m peaks including K2, Broad Peak and the Gasherbrums. From here we headed to Ali Camp and then over the Gondogoro La Pass (5940m)

Saitcho to Hushe

After descending the Gondogoro the route to Hushe became gradually greener as we walked through the lower valleys. It was refreshing to see colours again!

Andaman Islands

In December 2005 I headed out to Havelock in the Andaman Islands which is off the south coast of India for a three week holiday, most of which was spent diving.

Africa

In December 2004 I headed out to Africa for a month, some of which was spent on Safari, some independant travel, climbed Kilimanjaro, and a weeks diving in Pemba, which is a small island off the east coast of Africa.

In December 2003 I went backpacking around Australia for 6 weeks, great way to spend Christmas and New Year! Christmas was spent on a yatch sailing around the Whitsunday Islands whilst New Year was spent in Brisbane.

Dexter and DittoDexter is my Hungarian Vizsla dog, he was three years old in December 06. A typical Vizsla he has heaps of energy and is quite a character!
Ditto was born on 5th September 06 and arrived home in October.
The two D's are now the best of friends.
